Strategic Transport Planning
& Urban Design

Making better places for people.

Breadth of services:

Plan-making

We provide advice and support for regional, local and neighbourhood plan-making. This includes new and reconfigured sustainable transport infrastructure planning and concept design to meet the challenges of the housing crisis, climate and ecological change and to deliver a better quality of life for all people.

Visions

We devise transport visions as part of wider regeneration and sustainable growth plans by supporting clients, associated professionals and community groups in developing transport rationales and making the strategic case for investment. We help to develop the vision to find solutions that can unlock quality places.

Urban regeneration

We advise on regeneration plans, generating ideas, spatial transport strategies, conceptual infrastructure proposals to support urban regeneration.  We have specific expertise in regional and local transport planning, railway station interchange hubs and strategies for reconfiguring major ring roads.

Masterplanning for new places

We work with the planning system to prepare frameworks and codes for land development schemes and planned sustainable urban extensions. We collaborate in planning and urban design teams on design for people-centred places working with local government, developers and communities, to bring all stakeholders together to share the vision.

Training, mentoring, and design review

We write papers and engage in professional training and development. Richard Latcham is a Design West Panel Member.

We believe in strategic transport planning and urban design as keys to unlocking more potential of a place. Multi-scale tactics from city region to neighbourhood square.
